Volunteer Opportunities

The Conservancy's "Volunteers for the Necklace" program organizes area residents and visitors to participate directly in clean-ups, landscape improvement and community plantings within the 1,000 acres of the historic Emerald Necklace park system.


Emerald Necklace Conservancy Clean-ups and Plantings:

Spring - Fall

Back Bay Fens Stonedust Path Volunteers
Volunteer activities will range from invasive removal to trail maintenance and from storm drain stenciling to general clean-up activities.

Tuesdays with Roses:

Spring - Fall, Tuesday evenings from 5:00pm - 7:00pm

Back Bay Fens Rose Garden Volunteers


Volunteers will work in the Kelleher Rose Garden (Back Bay Fens on on-going maintenance such as weeding, deadheading and pruning.

Woodlands Volunteer Corps:

Spring - Fall, First Saturday of each month from 10:00am - 1:00pm

Woodlands Volunteers
Volunteers will work in the Olmsted Park Woodlands removing invasive species, planting native species and laying soil amendments.
