The Emerald Necklace Conservancy
Emerald Necklace

The Conservancy's volunteer programs are growing. We organize small and large groups of volunteers for a wide range of hands-on, outdoor, maintenance and restoration projects in different parts of the 1,000 acres of the historic Emerald Necklace park system. We also offer opportunities for participation in behind-the-scenes communications, public outreach and events organizing.

Please check the boxes next to Conservancy activities in which you are interested. We will keep you informed about those particular activities.

Volunteer Opportunities
What volunteer opportunities would you be interested in?

Seasonal and general maintenance -- From spring to autumn there are a variety of outdoor maintenance activities that the Conservancy leads. These range from painting benches to cleaning the river's edges, from weeding to erosion control

In the newly-restored Rose Garden, Tuesday evenings from April to October, volunteers help with on-going beautification, such as weeding, pruning, and deadheading (removing dead and withered flowers).

Join other volunteers in the Emerald Necklace's two largest woodlands - in Franklin Park and Olmsted Park - where we maintain trails, remove invasive non-native species, plant slopes to stop erosion, and clean-up.

Throughout the year, we sponsor special public education and fundraising events. You can help with the Justine Mee Liff Luncheon, the Conservancy's public annual meeting, and walks in the Necklace.

Help us with an ever-changing array of office activities that include special research, volunteer outreach, advocacy and mailings.
